U14’s back on court with a win in Ledbury

Great effort in our first match for 15 months. Defence was strong, really good pressure and hard work from the whole team. Defensive transition, particularly the press led to some steals and turnovers. The half court defence was strong with some better than average rebounding.
We need some work on offence, but we knew that going in. Where we did find players in space there was some great technique showing everyone of the Saxons players are working on their game and are technically proficient. Our communication and team spirit didn’t drop. This was always going to be tough with so long away from the game and a number of players pulling on a Saxons shirt for the first time. Our confidence will come and the performances will improve.
In the end, we were fortunate and worked just hard enough to come away with the win for Coach Adam John Scott in overtime. Most importantly, everyone’s got a smile on their face. So overall a successful return to competitive play.
